Attributions: seeing that all the provisions of the Agreement for Romania's association to the European Union are implemented and the objectives of the National strategy are met; participating, within the Joint Romania-European Union Parliamentary Committee, in the debates of all aspects of the relationships between Romania and the European Union, especially those referring to the implementation of the Agreement for Romania's association to the European Union; the competence in this matter shall be as stipulated in the Regulations of the Joint Romania-European Union Parliamentary Committee; issuing opinions on legislative initiatives purpoting to the European integration, so that the Romanian legislation is brought in line, as soon as as possible, with the European legislation, the market economy is strengthened in Romania and its integration into the structures and mechanism of the European Union is accelerated; the committee shall be entitled to take notice on the issuance of opinions on some legislative proposals in this field, with the consent of at least one third of the number of its members.
